The Dell PowerEdge MX740c is a feature-rich, single-width compute sled designed for the PowerEdge MX7000 modular chassis. It provides a solid foundation for virtualization and collaborative workloads, offering flexible compute, memory, and storage options. The PowerEdge MX740c is a capable workhorse for traditional data center applications, virtualization environments, and collaborative workloads requiring a balance of compute performance and memory capacity within the PowerEdge MX ecosystem.

- Processor Options: Supports up to two 1st or 2nd Generation IntelĀ® XeonĀ® Scalable processors, with configurations offering up to 28 cores per processor.
- Memory Capacity: Features 24 DDR4 DIMM slots with speeds up to 2933 MT/s. Supports various memory types:
- Up to 1.5 TB using RDIMMs & 3 TB using LRDIMMs.
- Optionally supports up to 12 NVDIMM-N slots (max 192 GB) or up to 12 Intel® Optane⢠DC Persistent Memory slots (max 6.1 TB, for a total capacity of up to 7.68 TB per server).
- Flexible Storage: Offers adaptable internal storage:
- Up to 6 x 2.5-inch hot-swappable bays supporting SAS, SATA, or NVMe drives (HDDs/SSDs).
