Description
The PowerEdge M1000e acts as a central hub for your blade servers, providing the necessary infrastructure and management capabilities in a consolidated and efficient manner. It is well-suited for environments that require high computing power, density, and simplified management, such as data centers and large enterprise deployments
PowerEdge M640, M630, M620 etc.
Capacity:
- Up to 8 full-width blades
- Up to 16 half-width blades
- Up to 32 quarter-width blades
The Dell PowerEdge M1000e is a modular blade server enclosure designed for high-density computing environments.
It serves as the foundational infrastructure for Dell’s M-series blade servers, providing shared power, cooling, networking, and management for up to 16 half-height blade servers.
High Density: It’s a 10U enclosure that can house up to 16 half-height or 8 full-height PowerEdge M-series blade servers, offering significant compute density in a relatively small footprint.
Shared Infrastructure: The chassis provides shared and redundant power supplies, cooling fans, and management modules, reducing the cost and complexity compared to deploying individual rack servers.
Integrated Management: It includes one (standard) or two (redundant) Chassis Management Controllers (CMCs) that provide a single point of management for the entire enclosure and all its components.
This simplifies tasks like inventory, configuration, monitoring, and updates.
Flexible Networking: The M1000e supports various networking options through its integrated I/O module bays. These bays can accommodate Ethernet switches, Fibre Channel switches, InfiniBand modules, or pass-through modules, allowing for customized connectivity.
Efficient Power and Cooling: The chassis is designed with energy efficiency in mind, featuring hot-pluggable, redundant power supplies and intelligent, variable-speed cooling fans that optimize power consumption and cooling based on the system’s needs.
Scalability: It’s designed to support current and future generations of Dell’s blade server technology, offering a scalable platform for growing IT needs.
Simplified Deployment and Management: The centralized management and shared infrastructure streamline the deployment and ongoing management of blade servers.
Redundancy and High Availability: Redundant power supplies, cooling fans, and optional redundant CMCs contribute to high system availability.
